ABOUT PAUL
Northern Colorado is a special and beautiful place to live, work, and play because of people like you. I want to continue to champion our voices.
In 2016, I was appointed by the Windsor Town Board to fill a two-year vacancy in District 4. In 2018, I was elected to serve a full four-year term, and in 2020, I was elected as Windsor’s 38th mayor. Due to Windsor's rules on term limits, that term concluded on April 22, 2024.
Throughout my tenure, I have served on several community boards, developed strong relationships with town staff, regional leaders, and state and federal representatives - connections that are vital to northern Colorado’s future. I look forward to continuing my service to northern Colorado as your next Larimer County Commissioner in District 3.
ISSUES
Where I Stand on the Issues Facing Larimer County
GROWTH
Smart Growth requires thoughtful
planning in infrastructure and economics. Communities need functional and intentional plans to accommodate the growth we are experiencing in the region. Affordability and managing resources for growth are paramount.
PUBLIC SAFETY
Crime has skyrocketed in our county and state. We are seeing the effects of soft-on-crime laws that tie the hands of law enforcement. There is an influx of drugs on our streets, homelessness has escalated, and the open border crisis is surging into our communities. As your County Commissioner, I will support measures to improve safety in our communities as well as support law enforcement and accountability in our justice system.
NATURAL RESOURCES
Water is our greatest resource and it is imperative that we protect it for future generations. We need to be responsible with our environment and good stewards of this land we call home. Making sure we have adequate resources to support growth is essential.
TAXES AND ECONOMY
Larimer County is not exempt from the effects of inflation. However, we need to find real solutions to the property tax burden that we all face, specifically for young families starting out and for our senior citizens on fixed incomes. We need to be accountable for what we spend.
Business is the lifeblood of our economy and small businesses are on the frontline of that battlefield. We must protect the free enterprise system.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Continuing to invest and maintain our aging roads and bridges is a vital aspect of smart growth. In addition, I am committed to protecting our critical infrastructure - cyber, water, power - from external threats. Threats to these services are on the rise nationwide. We need to have a serious conversation about protecting our resources and the citizens who use them.
INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS
Our constitutional rights have been hard fought over and we must remain vigilant in preserving them. From property rights to your right to bear arms - your rights are worth defending.
